Broken Commenting System
I just notice (Thank you, echa, for notifying this) that my commenting system was broken. Kaput. Blew up.
It supposed to block spammer but instead of blocking just the spammer, the setting blocked everybody, including legitimate comment. Well, this preventive measure should not be here if I wasn’t received too many comment spammer. So yes, blame it on the spammer and of course, my lousy programming skill if you must blame me ;).
I’ve made some modification (again) and hopefully this time it will worked like it should work. So if you can’t write any comment, send me email and let me know when it happened so I could trace it back on my log system.
Sorry for the inconvenience, folks. But really, this comment spam things was really getting out of hand. If this thing is getting worse and worse, I probably have to shutdown the comment system for good… I don’t want that to happen so please, let me know if my current security measure is not working so I could tweak it up a little bit.

Ourmedia.org
This is what I called a great project. [Ourmedia.org][om] is a new website that provide free storage and free bandwidth. Forever. From ourmedia website: > We provide free storage and free bandwidth for your videos, audio files, photos, text or software. Forever. No catches. Amazing isn't it? Supported by [Drupal][],[Bryght][] and [Internet Archive][], this is one great project to creative people that need huge storage, high bandwidth and of course, exposure - lots of it. This might sound like a very ambitious project for some. And for those pessimists out there... I just want to say one thing: **cut it / Read more …

Sunshine
It's been a while, eh? Been busy with thesis and other stuff in life. The thesis progress is painfully slow, as always. Been working on other stuffs too, most of them are web development kind of work. I'll let you know when they are done. Got my student visa extended until July 2005. What a relief, at least I don't have to worry for another 4 months or so. Still looking for an apartment on my own now, right now I am occupying a couch in friend's living room. Thanks [Gerd][]! What else? Hm, the spring is coming. The temperature / Read more …

Roller Coaster Weather
It’s been quite a roller coaster ride considering weather here in Lübeck. It went as low as -10°C a couple of days ago with snow and strong wind then yesterday it was a nice cool sunny weather at 6°C. This morning it was snowing again at 1°C. It was sunny again the whole day but the temperature still stucked at 2°C max. Small part of Trave river is still covered with thin ice but most of the ice was already melted yesterday. Most of the snow already melted away leaving some pile of dirty ice all over the city. Still / Read more …

Advisory
You know that I always “preaching” about Netiquette in every opportunies. It is not that Netiquitte is THAT important but let see, it is more like “I rub your back, you rub mine” kind of thing. It just make your net-life easier, manageable and organizable. In the end it is just a piece of advice to make your net-life better, it’s not for me, it’s for your own good. Netiquette used to be a thing that valued highly in the net-based community. That’s how we paid respect to each other. But I guess it was old and dying “rule” now. / Read more …

RTFM, between language and culture
Read The F**king Manual, famously known as RTFM, might sounds like a harsh statement. Of course you could said the “F” is stands for “Fine” or “Friendly” to make it more PG-13. For those who are unfamiliar with the term “RTFM”, this term is commonly used in information technology communities and usually given as in response to a question that can be answered easily by reading relevant documentation, and suggests that the inquirer may be wasting people’s time #[1]. Let me illustrated two kind of questions: A: “Hello. How do I install software X? I run the installer and it / Read more …

Fink'd
I just played around with Fink and it was not as scary as it sounds. As an experienced Linux user switched into a Mac user, I used Terminal from time to time to bypass the limitation of Mac’s GUI. Some tasks are easier to be done with CLI especially if you were used to use CLI for quite some times. Mac OS X, Darwin and UNIX One nice thing about using Mac OS X is the fact that it used Darwin as its core engine, which is also an UNIX-based system, so practically I could do any UNIX-related commands and / Read more …

Online Tools
Nowadays I used lots of public online tools to organize my things. The good thing about those online tools is I could accessed them from anywhere and with any computer I could used at that moment. On the other hand it is also some sort of “public”, which for some people is a big, or giant or even humongous, issue especially those with “privacy issue” on their mind. Well, fortunately (or unfortunately? It depends on how we perceive the issue), I am not one of them so using public online tools for me is a very helpful thing. The other / Read more …
